Peter joined Jonathan D. Tjornehoj, LLC, in September, 2010. In 2013, Peter and Jon formed Tjornehoj & Hack LLC. Peter brought with him to the firm eight years of experience in private and government practice covering a broad range of environmental and natural resource matters. Following graduation from the Washington College of Law at American University, he clerked for federal Magistrate Judge Beth Gesner at the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and Judge Michael Murphy on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He then became an associate at Davis, Graham and Stubbs, LLP in the Natural Resources Department. Peter’s practice there concentrated on public lands litigation and oil and gas transactional work, including oil and gas title examination. Peter also advised clients in Indian law and hard rock mining issues. Peter assisted in the representation of multiple oil and gas companies during the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission’s rulemaking process in 2007 and 2008. In September of 2008, Peter began work for Colorado Attorney General’s office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. Peter’s work focused on permitting, rulemaking and enforcement issues for hard rock mines, construction materials operations, and coal mining operations. Peter is licensed to practice law in federal and state courts of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
